Now, I had discovered the wonders of the Bible, all these pale in comparison, really and I had hardly return to these notes of mine anymore. This article is a meaningful read to me since I am interested in wealth creation and am currently investing in stocks, indices, forex, commodities, etc.
Can man truly give up all these creative means and systems, methods and analytical technical tools and surrender 100% to God for their future? Is it safe? Is a guarantee that they will succeed? What if .......what if ............
Perhaps, there are those who pondered on these questions and had in the past in some ways been let down, felt disappointed in God for not fulfilling their wishes and now had somehow found a working method for themselves. Naturally, they would want to continue and continue to believe in what works for them. I had been there, too.
In trading, it is said that 60% of winning comes from psychology with risk management taking up another 20-30% leaving only 10% to strategies. What is interesting is the market is flooded with many providers trying to sell you their trading systems, methods, etc to "help" you to win more money. Think about it, isn't it ironical? Why are we focusing on the last 10% when the majority of the winning deals have to with our psychology or simply put , the emotions, feelings that go into the actual game itself.
Then, this quote by Sir Winston Churchill : "The mood decides the fortune of people, rather than the fortunes decide the mood"
Here is what the Bible says : Proverbs 25:28 : A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.
Self control includes the mastery of our emotions, feelings, moods, etc and if one allow it to take control ,then their balance sheet performance is going to be haywire.
Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
The world here refers to the human world and not the spiritual world and we can easily test the power of God if we allow ourselves an opportunity to surrender to him and listen to what he has to offer us. The maker of this universe , surely he has thought thoroghly what is good for us , our children ,etc. So, it make sense to me to rely on him and not some man-made tools, idealogies no matter how convincing it seems to be.
When one can hold the mood of peace, abundance, gratitude in trading ( or other endeavours), then the fortune is taken care of. In the past, I would hanker over making so much money per day , per week and month and that really stressed me out. With one winning trade, I would quickly move on to the next hoping to bang on my winning luck only to lose it more later. Out of revenge (wrong mood), I pile on a bigger stake in the next trade and again lose it until I had lost all the capital. I would feel rejected, depressed, unhappy for a while and find ways and means to raise capital to get back into the game. The results remain the same. When would I ever learn, I asked myself?
Ecclesiastes 4.4 - And I saw that all toil and all achievement spring from one person’s envy of another. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.
Like chasing after the win, when we become envious of others and the constant feeling of losing out keep haunting us, there is a lack of peace in our lives. Without peace, we become easily agitated, lose concentration easily and suffers from mood swings. Again, I speak from experience so I know what the feeling is like, one that I do not want to go through again.
I did not purchase FB shares when it was low of 50 to what it is now, a 6 times multi bagger for those who had invested in it. Congrats to you all. In the second chart, the blue trend line indicates that the price has broken down and had given me an opportunity to buy some shares, which I did. I bought it on 30 November 2016 at 118.58 and with God's blessing, I am enjoying a small profit. The third chart shows two parallel blue lines which shows there is a gap awaiting to be filled up.
There is nothing new in this gap pattern as it can happen to many other trades as well but to a trader, would he look upon it as an opportunity and take advantage of it or would he let it slip by? Of course, nobody can predict if it goes up and fill the gap, it could move down, goes sideway for weeks and months as well. All I can say is I am blessed in this trade. I have peace in trading this counter, forgoing the actual profit value that I want to make so desperately in the past and immerse myself in the wish fulfilled - feeling of success, constantly making profit and gratefulness.
I wish the same for you , my readers as well.
