He is always late for meeting!
How come you can't be more like your sister who always keep her room clean and tidy?
My son has always scored full marks for his English spelling tests. Occasionally, he might get 1 or 2 wrong but 8 out of 10 times, he just need a night of practice and he will be fine. However, this is not so for his Chinese Hanyupinyin test which he is quite fearful of . Though I encouraged him, I realised after several conversations that he is fond of saying, I always get 2 wrong. And he said it with an expression of frustration and helplessness.
So I decided to pray for him. I prayed that specifically he would get full marks for his chinese test. And when he returns home, he is sharing with me this exciting piece of news and I see myself rewarding him with his favourite snack. Last night, the dream came true. He got 9/10 with 1 error.
Instead of marking the paper and forget about it, I told him to remember the feelings he is experiencing at the moment and to use it productively in future. He become more confident and convinced that getting full marks is not too far away and something very doable now that he has done it.
Most importantly, I sat with him and told him what I learnt recently. Getting good marks is an act of his behaviour and it has nothing to do with our love , genuine and unconditional for him. Our love is not measured by the marks he got for his papers. They are two separate things and it is important that he is aware of that.
Lord, I thank you for answering the prayer and I know your words will not return to you void and the scriptures contain all your promises.
