What are things that are seen? That would be what our senses are telling us - our circumstances, our current bank account, state of health, relationship status, etc. Some of us may be at the crossroads and are lost what to do, focusing on what to do, how to get out of this dark place that you are in. It's easy to lose sight and keep track of our vision sometimes and we find some momentary comfort in licking our wounds, choosing to stay down and out. Rest we must but we must never give in to the hard knocks of life, no matter how hard it throws at us.
That is why to me , it is even more important to shut out the noises out there and find solitary moment that we can be at peace with ourselves. Reading helps to calm me down and allow me to get into a different world and imagine what life would be like. Staying away from the hustle and bustle of the shopping malls and places where too many people congregate also saps my energy level. Running helps, these days without my music, just me and God within as I prayed and converse with him on my run. He is my pacer, my motivator and always willing to listen to my problems, no matter how small or big it is.
We must be on the lookout for small successes, no matter how tiny it is, it is important and necessary to celebrate. It provide tractions for us in the journey to keep on the fight, to find a worthy reason to wake up the next morning to continue the battle despite the hurting wounds on our back. Being with my two kids bring me lots of joy and wanting to shower them with love and care, holding their small little fingers in mine provides comfort and an indescribable magical feeling. When I get angry as I sometimes do with their behavior, I think of God and asked would He do the same to me. There is only one answer and that is NO. He is Love, perfection and compassionate. So, I would step aside, make a quick silent prayer and be conscious of my own behavior, constantly telling myself to forgive, be kind, to catch them doing more right than wrong, be patient and a good listener.
I often think they are gifts from God to help shape my character, to make me a better father, weed out my weaknesses and enhance my strength. I thank God daily for their good health and seeing them happy makes me happy as well. Faith is extremely important here since we are talking about things that we can't see. Like the air we breathe in, we know and trust it is in abundance day in night out, not worrying if it would fall short of supply. We trust the "system" out there would work even though we may not know how it works. We merely take it for granted literally. It is the same with our visions, we can't seem to see the evidence of the work at this moment but like the air we breathe in, the transformation is taking place, our character is being mould each day, our mind being renewed and our attitude shift to the better as well.
At the right time, we would take actions that would align with everything and that move would swing us out of the situation we are in. It could be an email that we receive, a phone call that we received or just an idea we get from a book or somewhere. Rather than thinking how it comes about (the works of God), we should really just pray and keep the faith and believe wholeheartedly in the creator.
That brings me to the next point - why we must not complain or talk about our problems. Not only are we giving it power that it should not have, the more we talk about it , the more we think of it and create visual images of it (often magnified out of proportion). We would find comfort talking or sharing wit the same group of people who like to complain as well - likes attract likes. I know is tough as I have been through and am still going through each day, haha. To not blog about it , write about it even think of it requires lots of discipline and hard work involved. But it gets better over time. That is why I write only the good stuff, those worthy of celebrations.
Try this new project - A good book or journal if you like. Record anything that is positive going on in your life be it a good article you read or something nice that your kids had said about you. The more you record, the more real it gets and over time when faced with challenges, it acts as a good motivational force to bring you out of the dark period. Have videos, pictures, etc to keep you going.
Keep the good stuff coming, ya ?
