I sometimes wonder do these great ancient philosopher took a leaf from the Bible? I think so...
To be able to call things that are not (ie. not yet in existence , still in our internal realm of imagination) as though they were (vividly imagined, our external world/reality comes from what we think within), isn't that the kind of power that humans yearn to have?
But is this power only given to some and withhold from the rest? Or we are all given yet many of us are not awaken to this magnificent power we possess within? That so many of us still continue to lean on others to help solve our problem somehow make God a mocking one.
So, in my case, I would like to have financial prosperity as one of my latest goal. That would be "things that are not" yet happening in my life but because I am created in the image of God, I too possess the power that he has bestowed upon me. It is hidden within me and the more I use it , the more skilful I am with it. It is my job to think imaginatively, convinced myself that I already have this thing in my possession (in my mind) so that my external world which I lived in can materialise this goal. How and when it is done by God is not what I can control, all I am required to do is to believe in the goal and treat it as if they were true.
This principle works only if one diligently invest time and practice the teachings without a shadow of doubt. To unlearn the things we thought we knew, the knowledge we had and released it and relearn requires us to be open minded, to accept that there is a higher force at work and if we were to relinquish our man made arrogance and pride, the answers are there lying awaiting for us. The solutions to our problems have not been removed, it is there all along but were we all too blind to see it and instead search frantically on the outside ?
Such supernatural power that one hears from word of mouth and hearsay require a leap of faith to experiment it on our own. After all, nobody wants to make a mockery out of himself, for fear of being laughed at and at the expense of his stupidity to even attempt such unscientific method. Would you?
Using willpower may get you started on the journey but without a strong imagination of the wish fulfilled, one is easy to find faults with himself and allows his emotions of anger, frustration, etc to control over him. We must turn a blind eye's to the short term progress as it pale in comparison to the eventual state that we so earnestly hope to arrive. Letting go of the current progress and immerse oneself completely in the end where the results are already obtained ensure one continues to do the daily mundane tasks of seemingly impossible, grinding and yielding completely to the end. It also allows the mind to stop wandering and engage in unwanted thoughts of giving up and introducing new ideas to misdirect the path.
Use it or lose it , we have to decide every moment of our lives.
