I reflected, why can't adults be the same? We said we wanted this or that but we planted seeds our doubts along the way and wonder why the promise of God did not come.
24 Now Thomas (also known as Didymus ), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came.
25 So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”
26 A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!”
27Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”
28 Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”
29 Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” John 20:24-29
Are we not like Thomas in many circumstances? We need see with our own eyes, the concrete evidence before we believe it is real. When we have doubts ,there is no peace in our hearts. We questioned its existence, we feel uncomfortable holding on to something imaginary, a sense of insecurity swells within us. We need something to hold on to, to grasp its physical element before we could convince ourselves it truly exists.
Jesus said those who believed and have not seen are blessed. It requires a strong faith and loyalty to the unseen reality. I trust my Lord that my debts are cleared, my financial situation has improved and all my financial goals are fulfilled. My mountains shall be cast into the sea!
Father, help me to continue be a good influence to my daughter, help me to stay strong fighter the war of doubt that haunts me every now and then, take it away this dark shield and replace it with peace instead. Plant signs and wonders in my journey, bring the right people at the right time for my business and weed out those that stands in the way. Give me wisdom like you given to King Solomon that I may know the difference between right and wrong.
Thank you Father !
